Ridgeway Sun Catcher

The Uffington White Horse is by far the oldest of the white horse figures in Britain, and the Ridgeway on which it lies East-West attracts many to its mystical past as well as the natural beauty of the area.

“A friend told me the ancient story of the White Horse horse galloping towards the setting sun to catch it and bring it back to rise from the East the next morning.  I felt compelled to try and depict that story…”.

Tales abound about nearby Wayland Smithy where Wayland is believed to still shoe the White Horse each 100 years.
