Once each 100 years The White Horse leaves The Ridgeway, to be shod by Wayland The Smith…
Atmospheric depiction of the legend of Wayland The Smith shoeing The White Horse at Wayland’s Smithy near Uffington, close to The Ridgeway in Oxfordshire.
Wayland The Smith is a mystical piece showing him at work at his forge. There is another White Horse ancient story that Anne has depicted – it is said that he gallops Westward to capture the Sun, to return it to the East so it can rise the next morning.
